The Challenge
The world’s most accurate, non-invasive cattle facial recognition platform. Empowering modern farms with stress-free identification, health monitoring, and precision management.
Ear tags are easy to lose or wear out, which can lead to infections; furthermore, reading them requires close contact, increasing stress on the cattle and labor costs.
Reliance on manual record-keeping results in delayed data updates, making it impossible to respond promptly during the early stages of disease or the estrus cycle, which leads to economic losses.
As global consumers demand ever-stricter animal welfare standards, physical tagging and frequent herding for headcounts are facing increasing scrutiny regarding compliance and ethics.
Our Technology / The Solution
Using deep learning algorithms to extract unique facial features of cattle (such as markings around the eyes and nose texture), with an accuracy rate as high as 99.X%; visual algorithms optimized for harsh ranch environments (bright light, back-lighting, nighttime, and mud or dirt obstructions)
Uses leading object detection algorithms in the field of deep learning for animal face detection, supporting real-time, precise localization of side-facing and rotated faces within a 90-degree range, as well as detection of targets with a resolution of 60x60 or higher in 1080p video.
Utilizes a multi-modal deep feature recognition network for animal identity verification, supporting both front-facing faces and a combination of front, side, and sub-region modal information for more precise identity verification.
Employs a GAN-based image enhancement algorithm to enhance images that are blurry, poorly lit, or partially obscured, making facial information clearer and improving the accuracy of identity verification.
Front-End App Integration with Model Recognition
Touchless Individual Identification
Replacing traditional physical ear tags (RFID) or branding, this system uses cameras to non-invasive identify individual cattle, creating a digital record for each animal that includes health, milk production, and reproductive history, thereby enabling precision management tailored to each individual cow.
Automated Precision Feeding and Milking Management
In automated milking systems (AMS) or smart feeding stations, the system quickly confirms a cow’s identity by recognizing its face, automatically dispensing customized rations or executing milking procedures, thereby preventing competitive feeding and improving feed conversion rates.
Asset Inventory and Agricultural Insurance Claims
Helps large ranches or insurance companies conduct rapid and accurate cattle inventories to prevent asset fraud; field staff can enter insurance information without needing close contact with the cattle, significantly streamlining the claims process.
Frequently Asked Questions
The advantage of using cattle facial recognition is that it eliminates the costs of electronic ear tags and the labor costs associated with tagging. Cattle facial data can be captured using a mobile app and verified via cloud-based comparison, significantly reducing operating costs.
It effectively replaces traditional physical marking methods—such as ear tagging—that cause stress to cattle, embodying an “animal-centered” farming philosophy
The front-end cattle facial recognition model features a mature SDK. If customers have their own management apps, they can use the SDK to embed cattle facial capture functionality into their apps. Once capture is complete, they can upload the captured photos to our cloud via a Web API call to establish a cattle facial database.
